Compelling Reasons Not to File a Petition to Terminate Parental Rights

Horizontal tabs

CA staff are required to refer a case for termination of parental rights to the Office of the Attorney General by the 12th month of the most recent 19 that children have been in out-of-home care unless a compelling reason exists not to do so.  Following this training, staff will understand what a compelling reason is, how to count months in out-of-home care to determine when documentation is needed, and how to document compelling reasons in FamLink.  Case examples will be used to practice skills learned.
